ARMSTRONG AND GREER (Charles Clark Armstrong and William Greer), Fern Artists and Photographers, London Portrait Rooms, 42 Princes Street, Dunedin; Post Office Box, 403; Bankers, National Bank of New Zealand; Private residences, Mr. Armstrong, Woodhaugh; Mr. Greer, High Street. The present firm established this photogra­phic business about the end of 1895 on the second floor of a three-story brick building, centrally situated in one of the busiest parts of Princes street. The studio is beautifully lighted and well fitted up for photographic purposes. There are a number of convenient apartments, which contain all needful appliances for doing a superior class of work. Mr. Armstrong has long been engaged in artificial fern work, the different varieties being artistically arranged and reproduced on panels, brackets, and articles of furniture, as well as in album form. Mr. Greer was apprenticed to Mr. F. A. Coxhead, with whom he served three and a half years. The firm are well and favourably known in Dunedin as portrait and landscape photographers.

JONES, FRANCIS LAWRENCE, Photographer, 175 George Street, Dunedin. Telephone 152; Bankers, Bank of New Zealand; Private residence, York Place. This well-known photographer’s studio was established by the present proprietor in 1885. The entrance vestibule contains a number of glass show cases in which are displayed specimens of the work turned out by Mr. Jones. The premises are very large, extend­ing back a distance of about 150 feet from the street. There are two floors, besides the basement, devoted to the various depart­ments of the business. The studio is a fine apartment with splendid light. The whole place is fitted up with every modern appliance needed for successful work of the best style and quality. Mr. Jones is a splendid operator and has a large collection.
